OPTICAL ENGINEERING CONSULTANT

n&k Technology is seeking a very dedicated optical engineering consultant who will be called upon, if needed, to participate in the company’s most challenging R&D projects related to optical design, analysis, and prototyping.

Responsibilities include:

  • To lead a team of young engineers through challenging optical-design projects and to provide clear guidance
  • To perform in-depth optical simulation and analysis and to provide recommendations for system improvement
  • To build optical mockups on a bench for proof of concept
  • To perform simple to sophisticated optical alignment
  • Be able to source out reliable and good-quality vendors for optical components
  • Close cooperation with mechanical and electrical engineers
  • Performing and documenting engineering tests

Strong knowledge and interest in optics is a must. Prior job experience related to optical science is required. Some knowledge in mechanics and electronics is preferred. Applicants must be familiar with spectrophotometry, laser spectroscopy, interferometry, fiber-coupling, terahertz systems, etc. Applicants must also be proficient in the most-common optical design and ray-tracing software such as Zemax and FRED. The successful candidate must be able to think outside the box and be self-motivated and self-confident in leading the team to successful completion of each project.

Since working onsite is necessary at times, local candidates are preferred. Assigned projects can last from a few weeks to several years! Therefore, n&k Technology wants to develop a long-term relationship with the successful candidate and expects him or her to become the company’s great asset.

MECHANICAL ENGINEER

n&k Technology is seeking an Engineer who will participate in the integration, testing, and shipment of n&k Technology’s products.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Building and modifying mechanical assemblies
  • Close cooperation with design and electrical engineers
  • Performing and documenting engineering tests
  • Overseeing quality control of incoming parts and components
  • Equipment troubleshooting

Knowledge of optics, electronics, and robotics is desirable. Applicants must be computer literate and possess excellent dexterity skills. The successful candidate must be an energetic and well-organized team player and must have a strong work ethic and be able to complete tasks and meet deadlines.

B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering is required. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

MANUFACTURING TECHNICIAN

n&k Technology is seeking a Manufacturing Technician who will participate in both placement and removal of parts and components from inventory, keeping the stockroom highly organized, and ensuring the inventory count is accurate.

Applicants must be computer literate and possess outstanding dexterity skills; must be energetic, enthusiastic and well-organized and demonstrate an excellent work ethic and be able to work independently or in a team environment.

APPLICATION ENGINEER FOR SEMICONDUCTOR METROLOGY

n&k Technology is seeking an Application Engineer. Responsibilities include collecting and analyzing measurement data; creating reports; giving technical presentations; training customers and participating in installations of n&k products. The engineer will participate in hands-on QC testing of n&k systems, as well as research and design for new development projects.

General knowledge of semiconductor fabrication and basic optics is considered an asset.  The successful candidate must be an energetic, well-organized team player with excellent written and oral communication skills.

B.S. in Physics, Materials Science or Engineering is required.  Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
